Lungau is an UNESCO Biosphere area near Salzburg, Austria. A "Biosphere" refers to an area where people, environment, the economy as well as tradition and heritage all thrive. This mountainous region has 15 towns situated above 1,000 meters and is popular in winters for skiing and hiking, cycling and other forest sports in summer.
