Granada lies in southern Spain, within the Andalusia region, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The city is celebrated for its remarkable blend of Moorish and Spanish heritage, featuring exquisite medieval architecture. Its crown jewel, the Alhambra, sits high above the city—a vast fortress and palace complex showcasing intricate Islamic artistry, peaceful courtyards, and reflective pools from the Nasrid period. Nearby, the Generalife gardens offer tranquil terraces, flowing fountains, and lush greenery that once served as a royal retreat.

Your hidden garden retreat in rural Granada
Welcome to Casa Jardin Escondido, a lovingly restored village house in the heart of Guájar Faragüit — a small, authentic Andalusian village nestled between the mountains of Granada and the beaches of the Costa Tropical. This is not just a place to stay: it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience life at a different pace while still enjoying all the essentials for remote work.
A Home Crafted With Love
Every corner of Casa Faragüit tells a story. This is my second restoration project, and I poured my heart into creating a welcoming space for travellers who value authenticity. Furniture has been rescued and restored, handmade ceramics add unique touches, and local artisans built the kitchen cabinetry. Even the artwork reflects a personal touch, with illustrations by my sister and ceramics by my teacher.
Fast Wi-Fi and Work-Friendly Spaces
Although the house sits in a tranquil village, it’s fully equipped for digital nomads. High-speed fibre optic Wi-Fi keeps you connected, and the large dining/work table and several smaller tables throughout the house make it easy to set up your workspace wherever you feel inspired.
A Practical Kitchen for Everyday Life
The kitchen is small but smartly designed for people who enjoy good, healthy food without spending hours cooking. You’ll find everything you need to prepare easy, delicious meals: a ceramic hob, air fryer, electric pressure cooker, blender, kettle, toaster, and coffee maker. This is more than a kitchenette: it’s made for those who like to experiment and enjoy home-cooked food while travelling.
Rooftop Views and Village Calm
One of the highlights is the rooftop terrace, with sweeping views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. It’s perfect for morning coffee, sunset yoga, or late-night stargazing. Outside the door you’ll find cobbled streets, traditional Andalusian houses, and walking routes such as the path to the El Castillejo ruins.
Comfort and Practicality
Like most old Andalusian village houses, Casa Faragüit has no central heating or air conditioning — but it’s thoughtfully equipped to stay comfortable. In cooler months you’ll find convector heaters in all key spaces, and in summer there are ceiling fans in almost every room. The thick walls and shaded corners keep temperatures pleasant year-round.
Dog-Friendly & Nature-Loving
Travelling with a dog? Casa Faragüit welcomes pets. The village surroundings and nearby trails make it easy to walk your furry friend while discovering hidden corners of rural Granada.
Location, Location, Location
Guájar Faragüit offers a rare mix of remoteness and accessibility. It’s only 25 minutes from Salobreña’s beaches, one hour from Granada city, and about an hour and twenty minutes from Málaga. Nearby you’ll find Vélez de Benaudalla, Guájar Fondón and Guájar Alto, each with their own character, plus local bars serving hearty Andalusian meals.
Why Casa Faragüit?
Because it’s more than a base: it’s a reset button. A place where slow mornings, strong coffee, high-speed Wi-Fi and mountain views meet. Where you can breathe deeply, work in peace, and feel inspired by the rhythm of village life — and still be close to beaches, towns and cultural landmarks.
If you’re a digital nomad looking for an authentic experience in southern Spain, Casa Faragüit is your hidden garden. Come
