At the foot of the highest mountain range in Continental Portugal, Serra da Estrela, lays the old and beautiful house built on top of one of the hundreds of giant stones in the central area of ??Portugal (hence the name of the estate "The Place of the High Stone"). For more than a century, Lugar da Pedra Alta has been meticulously and tastefully built as a place of relaxation and family reunions and has remained to this day the ideal hiding place for intimate moments in the family. Lugar da Pedra Alta offers our guests an unforgettable experience in the middle of the nature, surrounded by native flora such as the wonderful almonds, evergreen olives, pine trees and other conifers and a mesmerising view of the Serra de Estrela mountain range. The eight bedrooms, plus the dining room and living room provided for our visitors will take you back in time to the early twentieth century, in a warm and familiar atmosphere, for an evening in front of the fireplace or on the veranda behind the house admiring the majestic forest, or even - why not? -, in a hammock in the middle of nature! Due to the high speed internet we have in the all house and the several spaces that could be use for co-working we also consider ourselves a fantastic place for companies to make meetings or offer their employees unforgettable moments while team building. Imagine having a productive and creative day of work in one of our balconies with view to the forest or almond groove and for a quick break you go take a dive in the pool or to make your blood flow for creativity just take a step in our sports field for a quick game of football, basketball, tennis or badminton. Three full classical bathrooms with shower in the first floor near the rooms, one toilet in the main floor near the living room and workplaces and one toilet near the pool. Big stone Kitchen with big island with all that you need, several coffee machines (its Portugal :D), microwave, etc, etc....the kitchen might have certain schedules, because our Chef is always inventing new licors, bread, jams and a lot of stuff! In addition to the wonderful experience of spending a night in a historic house, it would be possible to make for you a delicious homemade breakfast, made mostly with organic products from our homestead or you can take them home, as souvenirs from our little shop. Also, one of our objectives is to allow nature to thrive, to take a regenerative and organic approach to agriculture, to interfere as little as possible with the environment, to go about it all in an organic way - one that is not harmful to nature We are a more/less isolated private family farm, 2h30 from Porto airport and 3h30 from Lisbon airport. Best transport to get here, if you don't have your own transport, is by bus to Gouveia city and then taxi to us or I can go pick you up. We have our own forest, around 2ha of it, almond groove, walnut grove, big olive field and several other fruit trees! Private pool and private sports field for tennis, football, basket, etc. Near us, 15m walking we have the village of Melo, very nice to visit with a few nice restaurants, two coffees and one grossery shop. 10m by car we have Gouveia and here you have the usual supermarkets, Continente, Lidl, etc...bars and one disco, several restaurants.
