Riad in the Fez is more than 300 years old, and is in the heart of the Fez Medina, Morocco. It has been renovated to retain its original character, with the addition of modern bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, air-conditioned bedrooms and WiFi. There is a spectacular view of the Medina from the roof terrace. There are two large bedrooms and a tiny third bedroom suitable for a guest or a child. You will have exclusive use of the Riad during your stay. The minimum rental possible is a month, and longer stays are encouraged. The story of Riad in the Fez renovation and my exploration of the culture and history of the city was the subject of my bestselling book, 'A House in Fez'. An architectural jewel, Riad in the Fez is also a comfortable home. The thick walls downstairs and shady courtyard with its tinkling fountain ensure that the temperatures are always reasonable, even on the hottest days. The services of our trusted housekeeper are included with the rental. She will clean and also cook delicious Moroccan meals for you on request. A local property manager is available, should you require any assistance during your stay. Riad in the Fez Medina is located close to small shops and the biggest fruit and vegetable souk in the Medina. It's also only a couple of minutes from taxis and transport. Staying here is an excellent base from which to explore other parts of Morocco. I can arrange a car and professional driver to take you wherever you wish, or public transport is an option. You will share the house with two tortoises, who hang out in the garden. Our housekeeper keeps them well supplied with lettuce and tomatoes.
