The European Environment Agency recognises Cyprus's beaches as the cleanest in all of Europe. Cyprus is noted for its lovely sandy beaches and clear seas. The island has more than 40 approved blue flag beaches for swimming and other water activities. The Mediterranean Sea is accessible from all of the cities; the ones with the longest coasts are Larnarca, Famagusta, Aiya Napa, Kyrenia, Limassol, and Paphos.
